BVEC Leadership and Member Organizations Attend 2024 Joint VSO Hearings

During the Joint Senate and House Veteran Service Organization Hearing held in early March, BVEC showed up in force to advocate for the interests and needs of Black veterans.

BVEC had a productive member meeting with Congressman David Schweikert, representative for Arizona’s 1st District. Together, we discussed the disparities Black veterans face and our legislative priorities for this year.

In addition to the meeting with Rep. Schweikert, BVEC leadership and member organizations were able to get candid interactions with staff from the offices of Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49), Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), Rep. Julia Brownley (CA-26), Rep. Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). Through these meetings BVEC was able to advocate to key decision makers on issues pertinent to Black veterans, and build on previous progress and momentum from earlier advocacy campaigns in the Fall and Winter months.
